Our next podcast episode is a cut of current tendencies presented on the label. Vadz, the person in charge, mixed up some already-put-on-the-net tracks, along with exclusive, yet unreleased fresh material, that will be featured on future releases. The mix starts a bit slow, with proper minimal and progressive flavour, then builds up into quick-mood-changing substance, with occasional electro and experimental accents. And, to drop the curtain, the final is calm and melodic. Some of these tracks were already charted by the big heads, others are played by numerous DJ’s all around the techno world, but the reason why i made this mix is to show you the wide range of Russian Techno, as a label and style. And this ain’t hits-only compilation, just a slice. Oh, by the way – this set was also featured on Bleep Radio – check #237.

INFO:
8bit Brothers – is a chiptune duo from the South of Russia. And this is their first appearance on the label. We got 4 tracks of strong chip-techno for you this time. From massive dancefloor-filling, fast-forward techno bombs – ‘K.A.T.E.’ and ‘Hiding Mushrooms’, to melancholic-but-energetic ‘Dormant Instincts’ and multi-layered melodic adventures of ‘In Heart Forever’. The release shows a successful synergy of technologies and as a result – a perfect crossover between techno music and 8bit / chiptune romanticism. Russian Techno recommends!

FEEDBACK:
Andrez Bergen
: K.A.T.E. strikes me as a hilarious reconsideration of old synth electro, but it’s also way cool; I’m going to drop this out next time I play over here. Really digging Hiding Mushrooms too; reminds me of messed up rave parties I went to in the early ’90s bled into a video game from 1984.

RT-4 review in The WIRE magazine!

Oh, what a surprise! Our big friend Joe Muggs dropped some lines about that dubstep release (RT-4) from Vadz in The WIRE magazine, December 2010 issue. It’s available only in printed version, but we also got those pages in PDF, just for a quick glance. Thanks, Joe! We love you! ;)

RTSW19: Various Artists - Expanding The Border Vol. 1

TRACKS:
1. Scott Robinson – Field Trip [6:30]
2. Stak Etop – 1le Balance 0 [4:41]
3. Thomas Grinder – Autopsy On The Green Terrace [6:13]
4. Fran Von Vie – Body Temple [7:57]

INFO:
Russian Techno label presents the first ever compilation with the tracks written by our international artists and friends. We’re expanding the border! With this offensive action we’re introducing new names and continue reporting about the ones you may have already heard of. The overall mood of the compilation is a bit apocalyptic, Ok, here we go:

1) Scott Robinson, well-known techno man from England, shows his addiction to industrial beats and acidic influences again. Raw, robotic structures and metallic creatures surround you in this cold world. A soundtrack for the droid’s rebel!

2) Stak Etop from Finland, the guy from Tenkale posse, that helped us to release the vinyl, provided this track as a part of a secret archive for those who bought RT-1 record, and now it’s available for everyone, for free. Enjoy this smartly done track with melancholic atmospheric melody in the background.

3) Thomas Grinder is an addict from Poland, that makes his very own-styled dirty techno beats. His ‘Autopsy’ draws a picture of a psycho ward patient’s paroxysm, but noone can help him because the whole world lays in ruins.

4) Fran Von Vie, Spanish artist, new on RT, specializes on progressive beats. His ‘Body Temple’ is a wonderful journey through the oceans of abandoned world, in search of the truth that lays deep inside. …And now – back to the real world! ;)
