FEEDBACK:
DVNT
: Downtown Song. Nice, proggy techno vibes on this. Mechanismus. Machined splintered beats, and what seem like breathing vox samples make up a great roller of a track. In my record box this one. Should fine homes with electro and techno heads alike. Unforgettable. Bright sparkly chunky beats. Again, this one should fine fans in both electro and techno camps. Really nice choice of synths make for a well produced deep, heads down track. To finish of the EP is Breaking. A lush, mellow, detroit techno sounding affair.
Angel Molina: ‘Downtown Song’ and ‘Breaking’ sound good here.

Sergey Vasilyev was born in St. Petersburg in 1978. He started Dj’ing on a custom-made mixing desk and 2 cassete decks with circuit bent pitch controls – you could just imagine his passion and addiction to the music since a tennage years! Thus, by the end of 90′s he became a welcome guest on many parties in St. Petersburg. He is also responsible for the project called ‘Hyperboloid of Engineer Garys’ (a meme to The Garin Death Ray). We proudly present his specially recorded mix. True and proper minimal techno this time – hypnotic, intense, deep and mysterious. The way it used to be! Enjoy!

INFO:
Over 2 years passed since the first ‘Things & Stuff‘ compilation, and now the story continues… What we have now is a collection of ‘remixes on’ or ‘remixes by’ the label responsible person – Vadz. This compilation shows varied approach to the original material and, as a result – different styles of the output – from intense and groovy techno sound to bright electro and light-weight housey stuff. Some of the artists you may aready know, others are newcomers on RT. Welcome aboard and pump up the volume!

1) I bet you know who Debasser is, and of course you’ve heard his massive ‘Fat Girls‘ track. This remix was made as a part of forthcoming release on WIDE with remixes from other artists, but we agreed to put it out on RT for free right now. Dirty electro-techno interpretation!

2) Steve Lukas is from UK, he runs Blistered Recordings and does wonderful series of mixes called ‘Not For Girls’ with actual techno sound. This remix is an answer from Vadz on Steve’s work on ‘Nuclear Volgodonsk‘. Dancefloor-friendly, tasty techno!

3) Naj has appeared on ‘Strategic Reserves‘ compilation before, and now here’s his remix on that-Bender-track. Cool techno with warm pads and simple melody. Everything to make you move – a refreshment remedy into your set!

4) Skaiz from Germany is fully involved into minimal / tech-house kind of production now. This remix was made by Vadz back in 2006 – a heavier version of one of his earlier tracks. Ready for the dancefloor, massive and groovy!

5) Another blast from the past. Project Mirror – a short collaboration of 2 producers from Taganrog, Russia, who then came each his own way. Vadz’ remix was made in 2006. All this time it has been waiting for it’s hour to become public. Tested on many dancefloors, this bright and simple electro track was remastered in 2010 and finally released. Enjoy!

6) We have another remarkable work in the ending. It is the ‘Abstraction’ track from Spider Man EP remixed by DJ Slon from St. Petersburg. It became more intense and got some rock-flavour. Play it louder!

Our next Russian Techno Podcast episode is a special mixture made by Mr. Tantcui Tantcui (aka Dot Eat Dot) exclusively for the label. This incredible mix discovers the widest spectre of Maxim’s predilections in wonky, ghetto, minimal techno, and even pop (for example – don’t be confused to check out positions 32 & 33)! It also has some exclusive tracks (any questiots, please?). Ok, this set was made with the help of different software (don’t suspect Ableton or Tracktor only), using various methods – slicing, cutting, chopping, carving, spackling, poking, etc, … The mix came out really interesting and tasty, it has different mood-flows as it builds, and no doubt it will stay in your players for long. Check this monumantal work, play it loud at your home parties, in a car or even at work (recommended to check ‘boss’-button availablity first), coz it’s techno wit balls u no wha i mean? ;)
